to touch the skies
with a leap
soaring pass people
hanging momentarily in the air
to the gasp of the crowds
and dunk the ball in
with confidence, ease and grace
to cheers from the stands
while opponents stand in awe and give a handshake full of renewed respect and inspiration.

volley it straight
down the line
and to drive drive drive
till its out of line
a'fore going for the kill
with a whipping smack
or a soft gentle drop
without ever having to boast.

visions blurred
by rivulets of water flowing down
as the scenery pass us by
breathing deeply
muscles working
rhythm perfect
a breeze blowing by.

muscles stretched and tense
beads of perspiration along the arms and body
the face contorted into a mixture of will determination and pain.
for the better of the body, heart, soul and mind.
